HP says gaming is a good omen

HP has aggressively re-entered the gaming segment, with its new OMEN range including an X desktop, a bare chassis for enthusiasts, 15 and 17” laptops, and a range of co-branded accessories made by SteelSeries.

As you would expect these are highly specified products that have a distinct style, and take the "boring" out of computing.

The OMEN offerings are an extension of HP’s unified gaming portfolio announced in May to maximise gaming performance per dollar. The brand focuses on overbuilt and over-engineered products meant to deliver bold innovation for gaming customers.

“The OMEN X Desktop was built for serious gamers who need fierce performance out-of-the-box in a fully customisable chassis – something not typically available from traditional PC manufacturers,” said Jeff Woodhouse, consumer category manager, Personal Systems, HP Australia. “HP’s engineers combined a unique design that maximises thermal management with support for industry standard components so that the true enthusiast can always be up to date with the latest hardware to maintain peak performance with a customised rig.”
